Mythos Brewery

MYTHOS BREWERY is the second largest brewery in Greece. The production plant is located in Thessaloniki and has 3 production lines with a capacity of 1.1 million hundred-litres of beer per year. The company also maintains distribution centres in Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete, providing countrywide coverage.

Mythos Brewery produces and distributes, in Greece, Mythos Beer, the first authentic Greek beer, the German lager Henninger, the German pilsner Kaiser and the Greek lager Golden. Furthermore, it imports and distributes world class brands, such as Australia´s Foster´s and the Irish Guinness and Kilkenny.

Let´s take a look at key dates in the history of the company:

• 1970 Founding of Henninger Hellas S.A., by German Brewery Henninger Brau of Frankfurt.
• 1989 BSN (French multinational company, producer of Kronenbourg beer) takes stock majority of Henninger Hellas.
• 1992 Boutari Group buys out Henninger Hellas S.A.
• 1997 Launching of the first authentic Hellenic Beer, Mythos Beer.
• 2002 Scottish & Newcastle purchases 47% stake in Mythos Breweries S.A.
• 2004 Scottish & Newcastle obtains the majority of stock (68%) of Mythos Breweries S.A.
